Fiesta on Siesta Key 2013
Posted on 14 April 2013
You can’t complain when a day at the office consists of putting your toes in the sand, catching some rays and watching fierce volleyball on the country’s most beautiful beach.
While half the Rox Volleyball crew was in Louisville, KY getting their indoor Harlem Shake on, Mel and I cruised on over to Siesta Key, FL and hung out with some killer collegiate sand volleyball players that double as professional Wobblers. College teams from all over the southeast came out to compete and were pumped when the sun proved the 70% chance for rain wrong.
All the teams definitely packed their A-Game! FAU and FGCU really duked it out with one match going all the way to 37FAU – 35FGCU. Another major highlight of the weekend was FSU’s Yidirim/Medic taking home the win in the Gold Division against Webber’s Lindstrom/Daugherty. Make sure to check Fiesta on Siesta Key’s site for more info on all the brackets!
Some other pleasant surprises presented themselves on and off the court all weekend like running into Warner University in their Rox 3” Spandex and NCAA Competition Tank (lookin’ good girls!), watching TuLane show us how to wobble and shuffle, hanging out with Rox Pros Brooke Sweat and Kristen Batt, and kickin’ it with Rox’s favorite photographer and friend Tim Techandphoto!
So consider this your Rox 411 on Fiesta on Siesta and for more info don’t be shy – check outfiestaonsiestakey.com.
