Energy Volleyball Club opened it’s doors in 2005 with the hopes of “developing the whole player: the athlete, the team mate, the person.” Linda Snyder strives to reach this goal by offering encouragement and many years of personal experience to the club she cofounded with Joshua Pak.
Linda says she has “seen the good, the bad and the ugly” in volleyball, being a mother of two daughters who played for over eleven years. It was from watching her children play volleyball that inspired her to cofound her first club, Edge, only to move on to Energy.
Energy believes that to become a better player one must actually play, not just warm the bench!
Joshua has been surrounded by sports his entire child and adult life. He played soccer, baseball and basketball competitively until he began college, when he decided to focus full force on his education. His twin daughters also played volleyball, which is where Linda and him self would sit in bleachers discussing a new type of club. Josh says his analytical approach, because of his career in IT, complements nicely with Linda’s “nurturing and organizational approach.” Energy believes that to become a better player one must actually play, not just warm the bench!
Energy’s philosophy is to focus on the natural ability of the player and to build on that skill. Energy recognizes the importance of the team in volleyball and attempts to lead their players to find good communication skills while offering respect and friendship. Energy believes that to become a better player one must actually play, not just warm the bench!
Energy has many programs, from an open gym in the summer to group and private lessons year round. They have camps in the summer for players at the beginning to Varsity levels. To find out more details for their programs visit their website http://www.energyvbc.com/.
