Roxin’ out at the AVCA Convention
Posted on 19 December 2012
4AM wake up call and the Rox Crew is off to the home of the Kentucky Derby! Floppy hats and flashy dresses aren’t the hype this time of year in Louisville, KY, instead headbands and spandex are all the rage!
The AVCA Convention is the time of year everyone in the volleyball world looks forward to taking notes, discovering new get-up and kick back a little. The Rox Crew cam in full force this year with all the latest in sublimation jerseys, beachwear and other great gear. They even gave a sneak peak of the new exclusive sponsored club jersey, which you are bound to see on the courts this year. The convention was packed and the marketplace was a ton of fun, but it was finally time for the Final Four!
The first match was Michigan vs. Texas and what a match it was! Down to the fifth set with Texas moving onto the semi finals. Next up, Penn State vs Oregon. Penn State was the favorite but Oregon (and their mascot) surprised the crowd and came out alive on top.
Finals Time! Texas vs. Oregon. First set did not look to good for Oregon with Texas dominating 25-11. The second set the ducks came back keeping it tied most the game but just barely losing 26-24. Before the third set the Oregon Duck and Texas Longhorn came out and battled “Gangnam Style” and even though the Oregon Duck won the dance off the team couldn’t pull through the last set losing 23-18.
The 3-0 Texas victory wrapped up the AVCA and the Rox crew has arrived safely back to St. Augustine, Florida to continue filling your club orders!
