So far this year Energy has already been off to a booming start. Their 12’s, 13’s, 14’s and 18’s are showing what they’ve got taking all the top spots in the region, with 15’s 16’s and 17’s holding strong as well.
Led by Coach Emily Kluczynski, the 14 ROX went 6-0 for their very first appearance at the Great Lakes Power League. 12 ROX, led by Kari Herbst, jumpstarted their season with a 9-1 record, along with 13 ROX, led by Allen Adams, ranking #1 in the Windy City Power League.
ROX knows this is just the beginning of a long and successful road…
As for the Boys side, their 14 ROX team earned Energy their very first Open Bid to USA Boys Nationals at the St. Louis Gateway Qualifier, thanks to great leadership Coach Chris Johnson and great team players.
And just when you think they can’t get any better, Energy VBC’s Girls’ 18 Rox win the 2011 College Recruitment Invitational Championship! In the presence of over 50 collegiate volleyball programs/coaches, while competing in a 24-team field against some of the top teams in the Midwest, Girls’ 18 Rox went undefeated throughout the tournament with an impressive 6-0 finish (even more impressively, notching a 12-1 record in games). The Gold Division was loaded with National competitors and the road to the tournament championship was difficult. Energy’s Girls’ 18 Rox were up to the challenge and defeated Edge’s 18 Black in the Quarter Finals. They then went on to defeat Sports Performance’s 18 Blue in a hard fought grudge match in the Semi-finals, and Powerhouse’s 18 Black in the Finals to earn the Championship in the first annual Energy Volleyball Recruits College Recruitment Invitational.
ROX knows this is just the beginning of a long and successful road for Energy teams and would like to wish the coaches and teams the best of luck!
